First, I start by outlining a personalized diet for you based on your responses to our Dosha (Constitution) Self-Exam. This diet will be based on the practices of Ayurveda (Holistic Indian Spiritual Science) which authenticates that all of creation is made up of 5 essential elements -- ether, air, fire, water, and earth respectively. Ether mixing with eternity creates air, moving air eventually creates friction which creates heat or fire, heat produces moisture creating water, and water is slow to walk through because of its density therefore water creates the densest form of matter, earth. Furthermore, Vedics say that all of creation including humans, are made up of many different combinations of all five essential elements. By simply balancing the elements within, you can balance the more physical levels of the human anatomy, hence balancing your constitution or dosha. For example, a person with a Fire (Pitta) Constitution could become unbalanced by simply ingesting food or drink that heats. Maybe the person is excessive in eating tomatoes, peppers, or spices. It could be that the person drinks alcohol, or that the person's career causes anger leading to a hot temper. All of these used in excess could cause different illnesses related to overheating ones self. A few illnesses that are caused by an imbalanced fire element include the following: hyperacidity, hypertension, disorders of the skin, spleen, abscesses, jaundice, diarrhea, inflammations, and bleeding disorders including excess menstruation, etc. Therefore, the holistic approach of Ayurveda seeks to restore balance using the insight of the elemental creation of the universe which establishes that life was created from within the eternal and will eventually return there. Ayurvedic Medicing places emphasis on promoting health, preventing disease, and enhancing longevity (rejuvenation or age reversal).
