Currently, dance lessons are taught by myself Teresa Martinez Hansberry within the following locations of Montana: Kalispell, Eureka, Libby, & the surrounding areas of Flathead and Lincoln Counties and Canada, also down in Puerto Rico in the southwestern area of the island: Mayaquez, Cabo Rojo, Ponce, & surrounding locations.
At this time, I am available for lessons in the Montana locations listed above only. We will post a notice as soon as lessons become available in Puerto Rico again. Please send us an email if you would like to be notified personally.
For all other locations not listed, we recommend that you contact The Arthur Murray Dance Studios and Schools for more information regarding lessons in your area or country.
Again, all of the dances that I teach require a partner (please the see list of Dances). However, I can substitute as your partner during the lessons if needed (see male or female without partner lessons below).
Each lesson is 90 minutes in length, is for Social Dance Instruction, and is by appointment only. I will teach the lessons to you in the privacy of your own home or other location designated by you.
The first lesson includes the introduction of basic components performed to various types of rhythms, tempos, and generes of music. These components are interchanged to create the patterns which form the basis of any dance studied. The components include various styles of walking steps forward and back; side steps left and right; ball-changes forward, backward, and to the sides left and right, all will be instructed, practiced, and incorporated into various patterns with and without music.
During the first lesson, I will also introduce various practice and dance holds with regards to different dances. Since, it is the male whom is in charge of leading the female through the various patterns of the dance, it is important that he understand how to lead and move in time to the music. Females will learn to be submissive and follow their partners lead, neither anticipating nor dominating the steps.
Depending on your individual progress and interest, it could take just a few weeks of lessons or several months before you feel proficient enough to dance without instruction. On average, most people need at least 10 to 20 lessons before they feel confident enough to dance in public.
Furthermore, a lot of people continue to take dancing lessons for years because they want to learn better posture, timing, footwork, foot positions, maneuverability, control, style, balance, pattern groupings, rise and fall, cuban motion, etc., and simply because it is a lot of fun.
Our Dance Lessons Include:
Male without Partner - $75.00 per Lesson
Teresa Martinez Hansberry will substitute as your partner during each lesson.
Female without Partner- $90.00 per Lesson
Teresa Martinez Hansberry will substitute as your partner during each lesson. Note: This lesson is more costly because Teresa has to perform the male dance steps while leading the female through each dance. Therefore, a male partner is recommended for females. See Couple Lesson below.

2 Couples - $30.00 per Couple per Lesson
3 Couples - $20.00 per Couple per Lesson
4 Couples up to 10 Couples - $15.00 per Couple per Lesson
